Martin Haigh - Director and Co-Founder
Martin Haigh has over 20 years’ experience in the healthcare sector. Originally training as a hospital pharmacist he worked for many years in the pharmaceutical industry in a variety of roles both in the UK and Australia. Martin has worked in strategic commercial roles, medical affairs and medical information roles and was a member of the executive team at AstraZeneca and Novartis Pharmaceuticals Australia. Martin has worked with key stakeholders across the healthcare sector and is passionate about connecting care and improving the patient journey and outcomes through better education and communication. Martin co-founded Intention Health with the express aim of joining the dots within the health system.
Paul McArdle - Director and Co-Founder
Paul is an accomplished multi-disciplined professional with extensive experience in legal and insurance field. He has almost 30 years of experience spanning across various roles in both the legal and insurance sectors. He has extensive knowledge of risk management and complex situations. He has a Law degree from Manchester Metropolitan University. He began his career in the UK, he has 12 years experience of working in legal practice acting for Claimants in the specialist areas of personal injury and industrial disease (such as Asbestos related diseases, COPD, Vibration White Finger, Industrial Deafness) and acting for major insurers in a Defendant capacity. He was a member of a Steering Committee, which was involved in the implementation of a compensation scheme in response to the British Coal class action litigation for COPD and Vibration White Finger. Relocating to Australia in 2007, he worked in the insurance industry as a Legal Specialist in the Workers Compensation area, managing common law claims. Since 2010, he worked for a number of global insurers managing complex Professional Indemnity, Financial Lines and Management Liability claims for a varied range of occupations / businesses, from SME's to large corporations. From 2012 to 2017 he was Claims Manager for Steadfast Underwriting Agencies. Outside work, he is a private pilot, plays the piano, loves to travel and is an amateur photographer. Paul brings to Intention Health his professionalism and focus on the management of risk and complex situations and the impact of chronic disease. He is passionate about health and chronic disease from his personal and professional experiences in this field.
